As a Dive Instructor working on a dive boat 5-6 days a week I dive a lot and my gear has to work and be comfortable. The Aeris 5 Oceans BC has been very comfortable and is very streamlined in the water with nothing in front of you to get in the way when dealing with students and other divers. The weight pockets and the trim weights on the tank band strap have been sufficient to carry the 16lbs I need to compensate for my 7mm suit and have worked well. I am looking forward to having a lighter weight BC for dive travel as the airlines have made it a chore to bring your dive gear. The 5 Oceans BC is a great value because now I don’t have to have 2 BCs one for travel and one fro my everyday dives.

Just the right amount of quality, simplicity and style at a nice price. A BCD that will fit the conditions for most divers and look good while doing it.

AS usual with Aeris products, the 5 Oceans BC seems to be well thought out in both style and function at a fair price for a weight integrated BC that will work nicely for most divers in a variety of dive conditions. Keep the good products coming.

I was able to test out my brand new BCD on a trip to Honduras over Spring Break (March 13- March 22). The first new thing that I noticed about my new BCD was that it fit perfectly in my one dive bag that contained all my own dive gear, plus all my daily clothes, and then I realized I had more room for the books I wanted to pack. My dive bag, my one piece of luggage, was underweight. My 5 Oceans BCD packs perfectly flat and takes up so little space. What a great way to make life easier—less luggage to keep up with.
The first day diving with my new 5 Oceans BCD I realized that my back did not ache. One of the reasons that I finally cratered and bought a new BCD was my back hurt all the time. I had talked to J and other divers, and they said that my form looked great but that I might be over arching my back because of poor weight integration on my old BCD. My old BCD had integrated weights, but it was one of the earlier versions. My sisters had all purchased new BCDs, and I looked at several different brands, but decided to purchase the 5 Oceans BCD because of the design of the weight integration system. The 5 Oceans BCD has the perfect weight system. It first velcros the weights in place and then locks them in with a snap. My old BCD was losing its Velcro and the pockets would constantly slip out, especially if I had to flip off the back of a boat. Lucky for me I do not require much weight, but this BCD is capable of holding 30 LBS.
Diving with the 5 Oceans BCD introduced me to a whole new level of diving. I was able to enjoy every minute of my dives in Honduras. I have dived these same sites on four different trips, but I have to give Aeris credit for producing a great BCD. I would recommend this BCD for anyone shopping or even interested in purchasing a new BCD. The 5 Oceans BCD is a must have.

I finally got to use it on Tuesday, the wind finally was down and the conditions were beautiful...which matched my thoughts on the 5 Oceans. This was the first back inflate BCD that I've used and I really loved it. It felt like I wasn't even wearing a BCD. All my others were jacket-style and I always felt very large underwater, like a manatee. But I had such freedom of movement with the 5 Oceans and it felt tight enough that there wasn't any tank movement either. And when I fully inflated at the surface, I always thought that the back inflate would push me forward, but to my surprise I didn't feel that with the 5 Oceans. I would recommend and sell the 5 Oceans to anyone looking for a lightweight, travel BCD.
