FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If you are experiencing difficulties, first ensure that you have installed the most current patch. To verify that the correct version is installed, click "About" from the program main menu to check the version number.

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DOWNLOAD, I RECEIVE A "USB HARDWARE NOT FOUND" MESSAGE:
When the USB cable is first connected to your PC, Windows will generate a "New Hardware Wizard". Once completed, a second wizard will appear. If either of these are bypassed or not completed successfully, and you are receiving the USB Hardware Not Found error message, follow these steps:

1. Verify that the USB cable is connected to your PC.
2. Go to Control Panel, double click "System". If using Windows XP you must be in "Classic View" to see the System icon.
3. Select the "Hardware" tab.
4. Select "Device Manager".
5. Scroll down, click the (+) sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controller".
6. RIGHT mouse click on "2002 Design, Inc. USB Download Interface". Select "Uninstall". Click "OK" to confirm device removal.
7. Unplug to USB cable from your PC, wait 5 seconds and plug it back in. A "New Hardware Installation Wizard" will open.
8. If you have the installation CD-ROM, choose "Install Automatically". If you have downloaded the drivers (see below), choose "Advanced", and browse to the location where you have saved the Drivers on your PC, usually C://USB Drivers.
9. A Windows Logo Testing dialog box will appear, select "Continue Anyway".
10. Once the files have been copied, click "Finish".
4. IMPORTANT: A second "New Hardware Wizard" will appear, follow the same steps once again.
11. Restart the download program, and attempt to download.

I AM NOT ABLE TO DOWNLOAD ALL DIVES:
AERIS Dive Computers have user selectable Sampling Rates that determine when data is sampled and stored for subsequent download to associated PC interface programs. More frequent sampling provides more data per dive yet results in storage of fewer dives for download. Use with Air or Nitrox, with or without air integration, dive profiles, and other variables also effect the number of dives that can be stored. Although as many as 150 dives might be stored for consistent 60 foot dives with the Sampling Rate set for a 10 foot rate, as few as 3 may be stored when the profiles fluctuate and the sampling rate is set for a 2 second rate.

I WANT TO DOWNLOAD THE ACI PROGRAM BUT HAVE A MAC:
Unfortunately, we do not offer a Macintosh version of the Aeris ACI download program, as the program is written using the Microsoft Access database which is not compatible with the Macintosh operating system. However, it is possible to run the Aeris ACI program on a Macintosh using one of the commercially available PC-emulation programs, such as Parallels or Boot Camp, which setS up a PC environment within the Mac operating system. While we have not evaluated either program and cannot endorse them, we have received feedback from end-users in the field that this approach has been successful.

WHEN DOWNLOADING I RECEIVE A "TIME OUT" ERROR :
Chances are that the hardware cable is not correctly connected to your dive computer. Ensure that the AERIS label is facing the same direction as the dive computer screen, and that it is securely installed. Visually inspect the connection to ensure that it is free from corrosion or debris.

I HAVE UPGRADED MY SERIAL PROGRAM TO THE NEW USB PROGRAM, CAN I TRANSFER MY EXISTING DIVE DATA FROM THE OLD PROGRAM TO THE NEW?
1 ) Copy the serial AUD database file (*.mdb) to the ACI directory and name it so that it matches the database name in the new USB directory.   This will overwrite the default USB database.
2 ) Click DBUpdate.exe and select OPEN.
3 ) At the "Open" dialog box, browse to your  new USB ACI and select the copied database file (*.mdb).
3) Click "Open"
3) Your existing database will be converted to a format that will be compatible with the USB ACI Program.
4 ) Open the USB program and view your Personal Log to confirm data transfer.

ON THE GRAPH PAGE, I AM UNABLE TO SEE ANY OF THE FIELD LABELS BECAUSE THE BACKGROUND IS BLACK:
Right mouse click on your desk top, select "Properties". Select "Theme", change to "Windows XP" or "Windows Classic".

I AM RECEIVEING A "CANNOT OPEN DATABASE" OR "CLASS NOT REGISTERED" ERROR MESSAGE:
1) Download DAO350.DLL and save to your:
- Windows system directory if win98 or Me
- Windows system32 directory if win2000 or XP
2) Select  Start/Run and type: regsvr32 <space> DAO350.DLL <click OK>
3) If you get the message "DLLRegisterServer...succeeded", run the Oceanlog program to verify that the problem is corrected.

I AM RECEIVING AN "ITEM NOT FOUND IN THIS COLLECTION" ERROR:
Make sure that you are running the correct software program for the Dive Computer and hardware device that you are attempting to use. Also ensure that once you have selected your personal log (your name) to download, you also select the correct Dive Computer model.

MY DIVE STORE TOLD ME ABOUT AN "UPLOAD" FEATURE INCLUDED WITH THE NEW USB SOFTWARE PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS ME TO SET MY DIVE COMPUTER SETTINGS THROUGH MY PC. HOW DO I ACCESS THIS PROGRAM?
The upload programs are separate from the download application - select Start/Programs/AERIS/ACI/DC Settings Upload. The Settings Upload program is compatible with the ATMOS elite, ATMOS ai and ATMOS 2 only.

CAN I TRANSFER MY DIVE DATA FROM ONE PC TO ANOTHER?
Locate the database file in the program directory (*.mdb). Copy this from one PC and place in the same directory on the other.
